About the artist:
Tawny knows that if she created 100 images a day of the male form she wouldn't tip the scales trying to balance the ratio of representation of the male and female body.. But she's trying to do her part. For her, the female form doesn't hold a monopoly on beauty or grace, a position she strives to prove with her paintings.
She studied Fine Art and Theatre at the University of Guelph. It was while expanding her repertoire at Emily Carr that she came upon her technique of using concentric lines to create her images, inspired by wood engraving.
She has had two solo shows at the Havana Art Gallery, taken part in the Art Pit for the Vancouver Fringe Festival and has had work in several group shows.
Exhibit runs:
August 18th - September 7th
